In fact,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cigna.com\/newsroom\/news-releases\/2018\/new-cigna-study-reveals-loneliness-at-epidemic-levels-in-america\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nearly half of Americans<\/a>&nbsp;feel alone or left out, and it\u2019s taking a mental and physical&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/news\/health-news\/articles\/2018-12-18\/3-in-4-americans-struggle-with-loneliness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">toll on them<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe advertisements target those who identify themselves as spiritual, socially conscious and seeking meaning in their lives, but who are not affiliated with a church. Our&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.umc.org\/who-we-are\/new-survey-ranks-welcoming-top-factor-in-church-choice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">surveys<\/a>&nbsp;show that they are craving meaningful relationships,\u201d shares Poonam Patodia\u2014chief marketing officer for United Methodist Communications, the church agency responsible for marketing of the denomination. \u201cWe invite them to find love, joy and peace by joining a welcoming community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new ads encourage people to visit a local United Methodist church and share their faith journey with others. They celebrate diversity and promote reaching out to others. They acknowledge that true friendship and love aren\u2019t always easy to find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The message in the ads is that The United Methodist Church doesn\u2019t have all of the answers. Rather, our belief is that hope and answers can be found when seeking God together. For example, one ad reads: \u201cLife isn\u2019t perfect. You\u2019re not the only one, who feels like the only one. But the people of The United Methodist Church believe that when we open ourselves to God\u2019s love, we can find peace, faith and joy. Let\u2019s find peace together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have utilized research to identify current issues on which the church is uniquely positioned to meet people\u2019s needs.
