The Greater Northwest Lay Leaders, New Circuit\nRiders, Connecting Neighbors and Disaster Recovery have come together to\ndevelop a 90 minute discussion-based training to provide support and education\nfor laity who are currently doing the powerful and oftentimes emotionally\ndraining work right now of supporting their congregation&nbsp;and their\npastor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Zoom-based&nbsp;training&nbsp;is\nled by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Marshall Wattman-Turner: clergy and coordinator of the Oregon-Idaho Abundant Health initiative<\/li><li>Dr. Jay Hughes &#8211; Psychiatrist working with post traumatic stress issues and congregant at Redeemer UMC in Kingston, Wash.<\/li><li>Catherine\u00a0Lundy, psychologist and congregant at Fairwood UMC in Renton, Wash.<\/li><li>Nancy\u00a0Tam Davis, Pacific Northwest Conference\u00a0Lay\u00a0Leader<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This&nbsp;training&nbsp;will be\noffered twice with a limit of 40 participants:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>June 25, 7pm-8:30pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>June 26, 1pm-2:30pm <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/form.jotform.com\/201598703159057\">Here is the direct registration link<\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/linkprotect.cudasvc.com\/url?a=https%3a%2f%2fform.jotform.com%2f201598703159057&amp;c=E,1,9Azd4U_03UUnkERs16Tlp6Bk5e3hsez20gz3mPfxfntOLGrknUXIbSek5nrhhhxQZymjxUUWxwHLGQEn5sAIiqSLkftkzUHXvJzGlSvo4A3t&amp;typo=1\" target=\"_blank\">.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this current season, we recognize that in addition to pastors, much of the burden&nbsp;in many churches for pastoral care falls to the church&nbsp;lay&nbsp;leader&nbsp;or congregational care team.
