The \u201cCalled to Love One Another\u201d video project of the Oregon-Idaho Conference LGBTQ+ Advocacy Coordinator in cooperation with the Collins Foundation is available now for group discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
LGBTQ+ Advocacy Coordinator Rev. Dr. Brett Webb-Mitchell is making the video available to churches who wish to watch the 24-minute video and host discussion groups. This can be done through online Zoom chats or other gathering settings that follow the Greater NW Area\u2019s \u201cReimagining Life Together\u201d COVID-19 safety protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCalled to Love One Another\u201d is a video, produced by Allied Video out of Salem, featuring three UMC clergy from rural, urban and suburban settings discussing their churches\u2019 pilgrimages to becoming reconciling and LGBTQ+ inclusive. Interspersed between those church stories are the stories of three LGBTQ+ persons who were once hidden, but now live out and open in their respective United Methodist Churches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe beauty is that all the people in the film testify to the power of loving one another, just as Jesus called us to \u2018love one another\u2019 in John 13: 34-35,\u201d Webb-Mitchell said. \u201cThis 24-minute video is a great conversation\/discussion starter. I would be glad to join churches or church groups in the Conference as we all continue to learn the Christly practice of loving one another among LGBTQ+ people and non-LGBTQ+ allies and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
