{"id":21821,"date":"2021-02-12T11:22:12","date_gmt":"2021-02-12T19:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greaternw.org\/news\/?p=21821"},"modified":"2021-02-12T11:22:13","modified_gmt":"2021-02-12T19:22:13","slug":"2021-global-ministries-racial-ethnic-local-church-grant-application-now-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greaternw.org\/news\/2021-global-ministries-racial-ethnic-local-church-grant-application-now-available\/","title":{"rendered":"2021 Global Ministries Racial Ethnic Local Church Grant Application now available"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Global Ministries Racial Ethnic Local Church (RELC) Grant application cycle is now open.\u00a0RELC grants are provided to assist local racial\/ethnic congregations with projects and programs on one of the four focus areas: 1)\u00a0<strong>Leadership Development; 2) Church Growth and Development; 3) Ministry with the Poor, and 4) Health Ministries.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RELC grants also provide a 1-year pastoral salary support of $10,000.\u00a0The maximum amount for a programmatic grant is $10,000 \u00a0This year\u2019s grant deadline is\u00a0<strong>May 1, 2021<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-round\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-white-color has-vivid-green-cyan-background-color has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/greaternw.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/2021-RELC-Grant-Application.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here for the Application<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The criteria of the RELC Grant is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The ministry\/project must focus on developing and strengthening the racial-ethnic local church for witness and\u00a0mission.<\/li><li>Applicants can apply for\u00a0<strong>either<\/strong>\u00a0a programmatic grant\u00a0<strong>OR<\/strong>\u00a0pastoral salary support, not both.<\/li><li>The grant application requires a signature of the district superintendent and theresident bishop\u00a0of the area where the ministry\/project is\u00a0located.<\/li><li>The ministry\/project must involve racial-ethnic church members in the\u00a0planning, leadership, and\u00a0decision-making.<\/li><li><strong>Priority will be given to new programs. Grants funded in the previous three years will not be given priority for the funding in the current year\u00a0cycle.<\/strong><\/li><li>The ministry\/project\u00a0<strong>must<\/strong>\u00a0be a program of a\u00a0<strong>majority racial-ethnic<\/strong>\u00a0local church\u00a0or supporting racial-ethnic members of an annual conference of the United Methodist Church in the United\u00a0States.<\/li><li>Maximum grant for a project is $10,000 and applications must reflect other resources from local congregation\/district and\/or conference.
