After many years of prayerful discernment and planning, St. Peter’s United Methodist Church has completed the sale of its property in the Crossroads area of Bellevue, Washington. The site was purchased by Imagine Housing, a nonprofit affordable housing developer, on January 30.
Imagine Housing plans to build approximately 100 affordable apartment homes on the property, creating housing opportunities for families who would otherwise be unable to afford to live in Bellevue.
“We are grateful for the partnership with Imagine Housing and for their commitment to building homes that strengthen the fabric of Bellevue. It’s a blessing to know this land will serve our neighbors for generations to come,” says Pastor Rich Fuss.
The sale reflects St. Peter’s long-standing commitment to community well-being and housing stability. Rather than maintaining an underutilized property, the congregation chose a path that aligns its resources with a clear missional purpose.
This milestone coincides with a significant transition for the congregation. St. Peter’s recently merged with Bellevue First United Methodist Church to form Hope United Methodist Church. As a newly unified community, Hope UMC celebrates this moment with gratitude for the good it will make possible for families and the broader Bellevue community.
