Originally produced as a devotional for the Global Ministries EarthKeepers Training held in Des Moines, Washington, in October 2025, Waters That Hold Us is now available for download by local United Methodist congregations to use in worship or small group settings.
In this reflective short film, Rev. David Valera weaves together stories of life on the Puget Sound and the Philippine islands, exploring how the waters that sustain life also connect humanity across distance and time. Through imagery of salmon runs, canoe journeys, and rising seas, he offers a meditation on creation care as both a spiritual discipline and a call to justice.
Waters That Hold Us invites viewers to listen deeply to the voice of God in creation and respond with compassion, stewardship, and hope. How will you respond?
