From The Circle of Indigenous Ministries

Greetings, Relatives! We are reaching out to invite your church community into a deeper journey of truth, healing, and relationship. At this moment in the life of the church, we believe God is calling us to listen with courage, to love with intention, and to step forward together into the work of repair.

We are honored to offer visits from two trusted leaders and teachers, Rev. Dr. Allen Buck Jr. (Cherokee Nation) and/or Sarah Augustine (Pueblo/Tewa descendant), who bring wisdom, humility, and a profound commitment to justice rooted in their faith and traditions.

Rev. Dr. Allen Buck, Jr. is the pastor of Great Spirit UMC in Portland and a longtime leader in relational, incarnational community development. His ministry centers on creating beloved community- where stories are honored, relationships are nurtured, and all people are uplifted. Allen brings more than two decades of advocacy for Indigenous rights, environmental justice, intergenerational healing, and community safety. His preaching is grounded in hope, truth, and an invitation to walk together toward liberation.

Sarah Augustine, co-founder and Executive Director of the Coalition to Dismantle the Doctrine of Discovery, is a respected international advocate for Indigenous Peoples. Through decades of work with vulnerable communities, global institutions, and faith movements, Sarah calls the Church to reckon with its past, discern its present, and courageously live into a just future. She is the author of The Land Is Not Empty and co-author of So We and Our Children May Live, and her teaching opens hearts to the Gospel of repair.

Together, Allen and Sarah share the heart of Truth Telling– a ministry of uncovering what has been hidden, honoring Indigenous experience, and helping churches step into the work of healing with humility, courage, and love.

If your congregation is ready to learn, listen, and grow in community with Indigenous leaders, we invite you to host Rev. Dr. Allen Buck Jr. and Sarah Augustine for preaching, teaching, or conversation.

This is sacred work- and we would be honored to walk it with you.

May we walk the good road together, guided by Spirit, toward truth and beloved community.
