It was announced this week that Camp Magruder in Rockaway Beach, Oregon, and Twinlow United Methodist Camp & Retreat Center in Rathdrum, Idaho, both camps made Newsweek’s list of the 500 Best Summer Camps, selected from over 12,000 options.

“We are proud of our camps and the staff teams and volunteers that make them the great places they are. Maintaining the standards, quality, and creativity that goes into making a camp great is not easy,” said Alan Rogstad, PNW Conference camping executive. “It is exciting to know these camps are recognized as being among the best!”

“We are very proud of those who worked faithfully at Camp Magruder to live out our mission. Our commitment to accepted standards, Christian hospitality, and the value of each camper as a beloved child of God, while challenging is worth it, because we know we are making a positive impact on their lives and in turn the world,” said Rev. Todd Bartlett, executive director of Camp & Retreat Ministries for the Oregon-Idaho Conference. “We are grateful to those who experienced our ministry at Camp Magruder and shared it with others, and we are humbled to be in the company of these outstanding leaders in camp and retreat ministry.”
