Hosted by the GNW Area Lay Leaders, the first ‘Laity Meet-Up’ panel tackled “Today’s UMC: What Laypersons Need to Know About General Conference.” The panelists included three General Conference delegates: Rev. Jim Doepken (Alaska), Skylar Marston-Bihl (PNW), and Jan Nelson (OR-ID), who provided an overview of what General Conference is in addition to discussing several significant pieces of legislation. All three will represent their conferences when General Conference convenes on April 23-May 3 in Charlotte, N.C.

Save the Date: The lay leaders hope to host the next ‘Laity Meet-Up’ on June 1, where they expect to discuss what happened at General Conference and what it means for United Methodists in the GNW.
