UMCLEAD is excited to announce that registration for the LEAD 2022 Conference in San Diego is now live! LEAD will be held in San Diego, CA from January 23rd-26th, 2022. The host hotel will be The Lafayette Hotel and the host church will be Normal Heights United Methodist Church.

LEAD creates space for Christian leaders to be vulnerable and courageous, connects them around their hopes for the future, and equips them to bring those hopes into reality. LEADers see a vision of the kin-dom of God and are willing to go through hell to get there. We support them on the journey.

We believe that LEADers are… Courageous, Collaborative, Vulnerable, Relational, and Hopeful.

As always, speakers will be chosen from an application process that closes July 31st and will present on a variety of topics. Church, non-profit, education, and business leaders are encouraged to apply. Each speaker will give a 7-18 minute “TED style” talk. There will also be immersion experiences to local churches and missions, networking opportunities, an opening mixer, and a closing dinner.

If you are interested in sponsoring the LEAD Conference you can reach out to maria@umclead.net or go to the sponsors page on our website.

Registration is now open, but Super Early Bird Tickets that include hotel rooms sold out in the first 48hrs. At the writing of this press release there are still a few Early Bird pricing tickets so act now to save $50.

We are also launching our first ever Young Adult Cohort. The LEAD Young Adult Cohort will include up to 12 young adults ages 21-30 and 2-3 mentors who will attend the LEAD Conference in San Diego, California from January 23 – January 27yh. Registration for the conference, hotel accommodations, and airfare or commuting costs will be covered by LEAD and sponsors. Each participant will be asked to pay a $150 participation fee.

This cohort of young adults will participate fully in the LEAD conference and have opportunities to interact with each other and mentors before, during, and after the event. The meetings before the LEAD conference will take place via Zoom. The cohort will then remain in the host city, San Diego, for an extra day after the conference ends for time of debrief, additional leadership support, and recreation as a way to build relationships formed at the conference. They will return home the next day and have a debrief Zoom call 30 days after the conference.
