Highline UMC in Burien is open for severe weather through at least February 19th. In its seventh year of providing shelter during extreme weather, HUMC operates a 50-bed shelter that can expand to 65 beds and accommodate couples and people with pets. Many community volunteers help with hospitality each evening, cooking and serving dinner, and running a clothing and supply room for guests.
HUMC receives grant funding from the City of Burien, King County District 8, and the King County Regional Homelessness Authority to cover staffing, utilities and food costs.
