The Greater Northwest Area treasurers are proud to announce a new partnership with Vanco – an online giving portal – that will reduce costs for ministry settings across the area to host online giving.
If a ministry setting is already using Vanco mobile or online giving portals, this will reduce their annual costs, according to Brant Henshaw and Sara Goetze, treasurer for the Pacific Northwest Conference Alaska Conferences and acting treasurer for the Oregon-Idaho Conference, respectively.
“We’ve taken seriously the ministry priority set by the GNW Area that asks for more support of in-common vendors for our local ministries,” said Henshaw. “We have a longstanding relationship with Vanco, but we’re excited for this extended partnership to help buy down some of the costs and fees associated with hosting online giving.”
Currently, local ministries who use Vanco must pay a 2.9 percent fee, plus 45 cents for debit and credit card transactions.. By negotiating this new contract with Vanco, rates will drop to 2.35% to 30 cents for transactions via credit card. The GNW Area will have bought down the rates and fees by 20 percent.. Costs vary for local ministries based on usage, but it could save the average church up to $800 per year.
“As we talk about financial stewardship and inspiring folks to give generously to local ministries, it’s important that we offer all the avenues possible to do this,” Goetze said. “Vanco is a trusted partner that knows the needs of our local ministry settings and works hard to make this a user-friendly platform.”
Vanco will work with congregations new to online giving – and their sales team is already contacting existing customers – to take advantage of this new partnership. All local congregations and ministry settings in the Greater Northwest Area are encouraged to request a demo from Vanco.
